18ct Yellow Gold, Onyx, Diamond
VINCENT’S SIGNET FACET RING
Taking a traditional concept and subverting it to form a new aesthetic is something that Hannah revels in.
In this solid gold signet ring, the inspiration was taken from mid-century Soviet propaganda graphics and monumentalist architecture, mixed with the seductively sinister underworld of London. The onyx and diamond detail at the top of the ring creates a timeless style, whilst the strong sculptural lines of the form add a sense of modernity.
A truly sophisticated jewel to wear both day and night.

I designed this ring for Vincent. Vincent is a suave, sophisticated and deadly dangerous Russian gangster, ruling the streets of London with an iron fist. I imagine him impeccably dressed, a gentleman through and through. You would perhaps just catch a glimpse of his perfectly tailored coat tails as he sped off down a dark alleyway, or a flash of his cufflinks as he stalked out of a bar he’d just completed his latest dark deal in.
The collection grew from my then fascination with all things Russian, mixed with my ongoing obsession with the darker sides of London, past and present, and my never-ending enthrallment with gender and masculinity as a subject. From this melting pot ‘Vincent’ was born as a collection.
This ring is a particularly important piece to me within the collection. I spent a lot of time working on taking what are seen as classic pieces of men’s jewellery and re-imagining them for both my enigmatic muse, and for a thoroughly modern, powerful woman, or man, who may choose to wear them.
The Signet Facet Ring takes the classic combination of yellow gold and black onyx, and gives it a complete twist. I see it as a talisman of Vincent, and a symbol of strength. The lines of the facets are strong and powerful, twisting themselves sculpturally round the ring. With this ring I wanted to create a piece that was un-placeable in time, a modern heirloom of Vincent’s darkly glamorous empire.
