18ct Rose Gold, Black Tahitian Pearls
STABBED PEARL EARRINGS
Stabbed through the heart by 18 carat rose gold, these Tahitian pearl earrings epitomise Hannah’s distinctive design language.
Sitting at the front of the ear, the pearl gives the wearer a feeling of decadent opulence, as the hook protruding from behind suggests something entirely more subversive.
Combining elegance with edge, the inky-black of the natural Tahitian pearl is complemented by the pink hues of the rose gold spear that holds it.
Please note that all Hannah Martin earrings can also be purchased singly.

This collection began as an homage to tales of adventure, and a fictional sea-faring, piratical character. ‘Aguila Dorada’ grew around my own narrative about this character - a man who has sailed the seven seas and has returned with chilling tales to tell and dark secrets to keep. A wild and untameable figure – wise, reckless and fearless all at once, and ultimately seductive.
As my research developed I was referencing piratical galleons, ship’s tackle and ancient treasure (amongst other things) alongside the work of photographers such as Sam Haskins and Mark Borthwick – the dreamy, mesmerising quality of their work seemed to underpin the story perfectly.
It seemed only right, in a collection that draws its inspiration from sea-faring adventurers and un-tameable pirates, that pearls should play a starring role.
I felt that the sensual curves of the pearls needed something dramatic as a contrast, and liked the idea that the gold could somehow pierce the pearl, stabbing it into place.
These earrings are designed to feel as if a shard of rose gold was piercing right through the heart of a Tahitian pearl, holding it in place on the ear. Pearls can have quite traditional connotations, and with this earring I wanted to break that mould. There is something a little dangerous, a little unnerving – but still sensual and voluptuous about this earring. In my mind, the perfect combination.
