RESTRAINT EARRINGS ASYMMETRIC
Lines of channel set stones are bolted together by shards of rose gold in this elegantly sculptural pair of earrings.
From the collection Somebody’s Sins, this asymmetric pair of earrings plays on the collection’s themes of freedom and restraint – creating a sense of taut energy within their forms.
Cleverly hinged at the post, allowing for a subtle movement whilst worn, these earrings are a statement in subversive luxury.
Please note that all Hannah Martin earrings are also available to purchase singly.

These earrings are a reflection of the overriding themes and sensations in the story of MrS. The collection looks at the tension created in the boundaries between possession and restraint, and total freedom of expression. The area in between fascinates me.
The collection was always intended to have an underlying tension to it - a sense that there was an immense power that exists just below the surface of the pieces. Restrained by the brutalist uniformity of the lines, this energy simmers darkly, creating a sense of strength and excitement.
There is an ambiguity to the physical structure of the earrings. Shafts of channel set stones are thrust together, held in place seemingly by shards of rose gold. I gently curved the form to add the touch of sensuality that I wanted to juxtapose the sharp, hard lines. I feel this adds to the sense of tension and unpredictability that underpins the design.
