18 carat gold, sapphires, diamonds
A signature piece from the collection Somebody’s Sins, this cuff bangle is a strong statement in sculptural form.
Intended to invoke a sense of tension and energy, the sensual forms of the cuff are juxtaposed with the graphic lines of its rose gold bar detail, seeming to hold the piece together.
The bangle is opened by a secret clasp hidden beneath the diamonds, adding an extra frisson to this compelling piece.

As I was designing this piece, indeed the whole tale of MrS, I was interested in the area that exists in the balance between restraint, possession and dominance and total freedom of expression. The tension that is created in this balance informed the forms and feel of this cuff.
I wanted to capture the industrial feel of the clamps I was referencing in my initial design development work, and combine this with a fluid sensuality and voluptuousness. Sharp hard lines meet curvaceous forms, and in doing so create a thrilling vitality and energy, just beneath the surface.
I was aiming for the metal to feel stretched and taut, culminating in the crescendo of detail at the top of the cuff.
