18ct Rose Gold, Brown Diamonds
KNOTTED PAVÉ RING
Curvaceous, sensual and irresistibly tactile – the Knotted Ring is a piece of sculpture in its own right.
Reflecting the themes of restraint and freedom of the Aguila Dorada collection, Hannah’s interpretation of a knotted rope around the finger is compellingly seductive. Every nuance of a real rope has been interpreted by Hannah’s hands – creating this true-to-life version in 18 carat rose gold.
The brown diamonds pick out the detail on one side of the knot, subtly creating a complementary texture to this bold, lustrous ring.

The ‘Aguila Dorada’ collection grew from a tale of adventure. The narrative of the collection derives from a wild and reckless character – a man who has sailed the seven seas and has returned with chilling tales to tell and dark secrets to keep. An untameable, unpredictable adventurer.
Much of my visual research was quite piratical. I was looking at old galleons and ships that may have transported such characters around the world. I became fascinated by knots and rope and their incredible sculptural qualities.
With this ring I liked the idea of a rope quite literally being tied around your finger, but the rope had to be beautiful. It had to feel like a piece of sculpture and have a certain sensuous feel. I wanted to capture the sensation that this piece of jewellery could be a part of an ancient treasure hoard, but could equally be something super modern.
To achieve the sculptural nature of the ring I carved the shape by hand, focusing on the voluptuous feeling of the curves in the rope. The richness of the rose gold, combined with the warmth of the brown diamonds, adds to the sense that this could be a lost antiquity, wrestled from the clutches of a dangerous pirate. Or at least I think so.
