18ct White Gold
KNIFE EDGE KNUCKLE DUSTER WHITE
An original and elegant twist on a three-fingered ring, Hannah’s sculptural take on this classic offers something beautiful and delicate to its wearer.
Contrasting the grace and refinement of its curvaceous form with the darker undertones of its design origins, this is a statement in subtly subversive luxury.

I see this ring as one of the hero pieces of the collection ‘The Only Performance’, it epitomises what I was trying to achieve within the narrative as a whole. The collection itself is a hymn to underground London, the very darkest parts of it.
The story began as my response to the film ‘Performance’ – the 1970 film directed by Donald Cammel and Nicholas Roeg, starring Mick Jagger and James Fox. A film I have watched more times than I can count.
I conjured up a London underworld inhabited by the dangerous and the suave. A world populated by characters that are intoxicatingly badly behaved. I was also interested in the film’s play on masculinity - a subject that has always fascinated me. I wanted to create a collection about balances of power, a collection that explores those unexplored areas at the boundaries of things.
Being a story with mobsters at its centre, it felt only appropriate to design a three-fingered ring, loosely based on a knuckleduster. My aim was to make it elegant and beautiful without losing its strength.
I designed the ring as a sliver of gold that forms a crisp knife-edge line at the top of the fingers, whilst flowing sensually around the hand beneath. Sculptural forms are a large part of what I do as a designer, and I wanted this ring to have that same contrast between curved, sculptural surfaces and hard, sharp lines.
