IMPERIAL EAGLE ICON RING WHITE
A visual fascination with eagles and the strength and power that they represent has led to the eagle form becoming a distinctive design thread that spreads across much of Hannah’s work.
Seen here in solid 18 carat gold as a sculptural ring, the Imperial Eagle Icon is a fine example of hand carving skill and a sculptural eye.
A true icon from the collection Vincent, and a statement in elegant sculpture.

‘Vincent’ is a story about a darkly suave, dangerously sophisticated Russian gangster – ruling London’s underworld with his enigmatic, fiery power. Vincent is an oligarch of the underground, the indisputable ruler of his dark kingdom.
Once Vincent, the enigma, had settled himself into my head, much of my visual research was centred around monumental Soviet Modernist architecture, Russian communist propaganda graphics and the story of the Romanov’s – the last Tsar’s of Russia. I was intrigued by the combination of brutalism and opulence, the tension that this juxtaposition could create.
The eagle, that this ring forms itself around, I took directly from the Romanov’s family heraldry – a double-headed eagle. I played with the sculptural qualities of the eagle – I wanted to combine the recognisable eagle’s head with the brutalist lines of the architecture I had been looking at. I wanted an eagle with strength, with power.
Much of this collection is designed with the idea of hidden symbolry and talismen. I imagined creating pieces that would be recognisable to those in the know – much like the language of Russian prison tattooing. Whatever you may choose this ring’s meaning to be, the strength of Vincent’s eagle will be always with you – at least that is how I like to imagine it.
