GENTLEMAN GANGSTER LINED LINK BRACELET ROSE
The inspiration for the collection entitled Vincent was drawn from an obsession with dangerously stylish gentleman.
Hannah took inspiration from 1930’s deco detailing and mid-century Russian propaganda graphics, amongst others, all of which can be seen reflected in the simple yet elegant link that makes up this bracelet.
Like all Hannah Martin pieces, the clasp is designed as an integral part of the bracelet – clipping together and disappearing once the bracelet is in place on the wrist.
The sculptural detailing and sensual weight of this bracelet makes it a striking yet subtle piece of design.

This bracelet is made from approximately 105 grams of solid 18 carat gold, with a sprung clasp in one link for closure. The bracelet is handmade, link by link, in our London workshops.

‘Vincent’ is a collection that tells the story of a dark and dangerous character, ruling London’s underworld with an iron fist. Vincent is the perfect gentleman gangster - suave, sophisticated and deadly. Impeccably dressed – you would perhaps see just the tails of his perfectly tailored coat disappearing down a dark alleyway, or a flash of his diamond cufflinks as he stalks out of an underground gambling den.
My initial research took in monumental Soviet Modernist architecture, Russian communist propaganda graphics, post-modern Russian art (Malevich in particularly) and the films of David Cronenburg and Tarkovsky, amongst other inspirations.
The form of this bracelet originally began as I was sketching what I saw as traditionally masculine accessories – vintage lighters, old gold watches and their chains, classic signet rings. The sculptural lined structure developed from this research, mixed with the brutalism of the architecture I was referencing.
I wanted the links of the bracelet to reflect the autonomy of the power of Vincent. They had to be strong and powerful, yet have something elegant and sculptural about them. These graphic lines can be seen in many guises across the collection – a visual language that has come to me to embody both the character and the story.
