18 carat gold, black jade
BOUND EARRINGS SHORT
Apparently hovering around the ear, two shafts of black jade are bound by fluid ropes of rose gold in this refined and elegant pair of earrings.
Effortlessly chic, with a subtly subversive edge – these earrings are classic Hannah Martin in their strength and style. The detachable back means they can be worn in two ways – together, or as a simple stud.
Please note that all Hannah Martin earrings can also be purchased singly.
Edition of 100.

This earring grew from my study of binding, and the incredible taut energy created in this restraint. I was interested in the contrast that comes about when something soft is combined with something hard.
In the context of MrS, my dark and beguiling muse, the tension is an important part of his power. I wanted an earring that in its apparent simplicity reflected the references of Japanese rope bondage as well as the works of Pierre Molinier.
When both parts of the earring are worn together the carved rods of black jade hover above and below the ear, appearing to be ‘bound’ in place by ropes of rose gold. I wanted the contrast of the warmth of the rose gold, in its soft and sensual forms, with the rigid formality and darkness of the carved black jade. I wanted the bound earrings to be a coming together of masculine and feminine - a meeting of two opposing visual themes, to make a whole.
